About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at POAH Communities. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of our residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and secure living environment by performing routine maintenance tasks, inspecting properties, and addressing any safety concerns.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including EPA and OSHA guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough property inspections to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs.
  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance on all equipment and systems.
  • Perform minor and routine maintenance/repairs, and diagnose any issues that may arise.
  • Ensure all make-ready repairs and services are completed to a high standard.
  • Assist in coordinating make-ready repairs and services, and inspect properties to ensure they are ready for occupancy.
  • Keep grounds and common areas neat and clean, including raking, sweeping, and shoveling as necessary.
Requirements
  • At least 1 year of experience in apartment maintenance.
  • High School diploma or GED required; HVAC certification preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License and automobile insurance coverage required, as use of personal vehicle will be necessary.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and on-call shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge and skills in the safe use and maintenance of hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to perform duties that require being on feet, bending, stooping, squatting, climbing stairs, pushing/pulling, reaching above shoulder level, climbing ladders, grasping/gripping/turning, finger dexterity, lifting/carrying up to 75lbs, and reading and understanding maintenance forms and warning labels.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
