Floor Maintenance Technician - Facilities Management

Position Overview
The Floor Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing general and specialized cleaning and upkeep tasks to ensure a pristine, safe, and welcoming environment. This role includes various responsibilities, such as snow and ice management, responding to water or fire incidents, and supporting special events.
The technician is expected to maintain cleanliness across substantial areas, utilizing standard tools and adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Work Relationships
The Floor Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Custodial Supervisors/Managers and may have indirect reporting to a Night Operations Manager based on the assigned shift. This role involves both independent work and collaboration with team members, executing tasks as directed by supervisors and managers.
In emergency situations, such as severe weather or spills, the technician may receive assignments from various management personnel, ensuring the department's commitment to a clean and safe environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to uphold facility standards.
- Respond to emergency situations as required.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of one year of custodial experience preferred.
- Valid driver's license from the relevant jurisdiction.
- Basic proficiency in English, including reading and writing skills.
- Ability to communicate maintenance issues effectively.
Essential Position: The Floor Maintenance Technician is classified as an essential role, requiring attendance during adverse weather conditions as scheduled.
Work Mode: On Campus. Please note that work mode designations are subject to regular review to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
