Floor Maintenance Technician - Facilities Management

Join a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe environment in an esteemed educational institution. As a Floor Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all floor surfaces are impeccably maintained and presentable for the community.

Position Overview

The Floor Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks aimed at providing a pristine and secure physical setting. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, routine cleaning, snow and ice management, and responding to emergencies such as water or fire damage.

Daily, you will be expected to cover substantial areas, utilizing standard tools and adhering to safety protocols to ensure compliance with all regulations.

Work Relationships

The Floor Maintenance Technician will report directly to a Custodial Supervisor or Manager and may also coordinate with a Night Operations Manager based on the assigned shift. This role requires both independent work and collaboration with other team members to fulfill essential tasks as directed.

In specific situations, such as emergency clean-ups, you may receive assignments from various management personnel, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and communication within the department.

Key Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of one year of relevant custodial experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license from the appropriate jurisdiction
  • Basic proficiency in English, with the ability to read and comprehend instructions and policies
  • Effective communication skills to report maintenance issues


Essential Duties

The Floor Maintenance Technician is classified as an essential position, which requires timely attendance during adverse weather conditions, regardless of operational status.
