Position Summary:

We are in search of a Senior IT Security Specialist who will take charge of the identification, planning, development, implementation, and assessment of IT security solutions within our organization. This pivotal role encompasses architectural design, the establishment of security protocols, and the orchestration of collaborative efforts across various teams to safeguard the integrity, availability, and confidentiality of our information systems. The Specialist will be a vital member of the Incident Response Team and may represent the organization in critical information security investigations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess requirements for IT security solutions and services.
  • Formulate plans, timelines, and resource estimates.
  • Establish milestones and deliverables for security initiatives.
  • Evaluate and coordinate the acquisition and deployment of security products.
  • Provide architectural guidance and facilitate the integration of security solutions into existing network frameworks.
  • Implement and interpret policy directives, including HSPD-7, and develop project plans for infrastructure protection.
  • Recommend and establish infrastructure protection tools, methodologies, and technologies.
  • Identify significant cybersecurity issues, trends, and vulnerabilities.
  • Propose specific modifications and solutions to mitigate information systems security risks.
  • Devise strategies to address future security challenges.
  • Establish technical or procedural enforcements for relevant policies within the organization.
  • Promote organization-wide communication to ensure awareness and compliance regarding information security.
  • Review proposed systems, networks, and software designs for potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Resolve integration security challenges across various disciplines.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of both planned and deployed systems.
  • Act as a key member of the Incident Response Team.
  • Recommend containment and remediation actions based on assessment findings.
  • Serve as an expert witness in legal proceedings if necessary.
  • Oversee firewall security upgrades, including testing and deployment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot SSL VPN connections.
  • Administer firewalls, ensuring the maintenance and implementation of security policies on Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks firewalls.
  • Identify, assess, and implement information systems security tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT security, including at least 5 years as a System Administrator and 7 years as a Security Administrator.
  • Certifications: CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) is mandatory.
  • Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto Networks technologies, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with networking tools such as Nmap, Wireshark, tcpdump, etc.
  • Understanding of proxy and URL filtering services, SIEM operations, and common networking concepts and protocols (TCP/UDP, OSI Model, Layer 2/3 routing concepts).
  • Ability to obtain Level 2 Secret (ANACI).
