Role Summary:

We are in search of a Procurement Specialist/Buyer to enhance our operations in Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will engage in a variety of procurement tasks for all necessary materials, services, and technologies. Responsibilities will include assisting with RFQs, purchase requests, and conducting regular price evaluations to ensure optimal pricing for all indirect and direct purchases. The role involves market research, sourcing new vendors for competitive pricing, negotiating terms for blanket agreements, and managing vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster and maintain robust relationships with both new and existing suppliers.
  • Review and issue purchase requests, RFQs, and purchasing agreements while ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Establish a systematic approach for monitoring supply inventory and assessing purchasing requirements based on quarterly and annual forecasts.
  • Ensure that the procurement process adheres to company policies, DoD regulations, and Public Law, in alignment with DCMA Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) standards.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and develop long-term purchasing agreements with suppliers.
  • Verify product deliveries against issued purchase orders and address discrepancies with Accounts Payable/Receivable.
  • Commit to understanding company purchasing policies and procedures while maintaining necessary inventory levels for effective operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the purchasing and business office functions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of proven experience in procurement or purchasing, particularly within the DoD sector, with knowledge of DCMA CPSR audits and FAR regulations preferred.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with CostPoint or similar procurement software is advantageous.
  • Experience with DoD sole source and competitive/non-competitive awards and justifications is preferred.
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively based on organizational needs.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain DOD clearance as required.
