Compensation:

Starting base compensation is $18.28 per hour for candidates holding a Bachelor’s degree.

Experience credit will be added to the base pay.

A sign-on bonus of $3,000 is available (50% paid in the first paycheck and the remaining 50% after 90 days of employment).

An annual increase of $1,560 is provided for those with a Master’s degree.

Overtime is compensated at 1.5 times the hourly rate.

For over five decades, Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health has been dedicated to providing comprehensive residential programs and services for children with learning differences and special needs.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a Youth Support Specialist who possesses experience with the student demographic and is committed to positively impacting the lives of children facing learning differences and mental health challenges.

Work Schedule:

Options include:

- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 3 PM to 11 PM and Sunday from 7 AM to 11 AM

- OR Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday from 3 PM to 11 PM and Saturday from 7 AM to 11 AM

Key Responsibilities:

- Supervise a group of up to 12 adolescents (ages 8-21) in a residential setting.

- Ensure accountability for all students in your group at all times, including conducting bed checks starting at 9 PM.

- Encourage independence by guiding students through daily living activities (e.g., personal hygiene, chores, room upkeep).

- Facilitate engaging activities.

- Implement tailored instruction based on each child's cognitive, emotional, social, and psychological development.

- Manage behavioral incidents within the residential environment, applying principles of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and a token economy system.

- Communicate relevant information to supervisors, clinicians, behaviorists, and nursing staff.

- Document shift activities at the end of each shift.

- Exhibit effective problem-solving abilities.

- Promote the core values of fairness, honesty, respect, responsibility, and kindness throughout the campus.

- Create a safe, clean, nurturing, and productive living environment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree

- At least 21 years of age

- Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

- One year of experience in Human Services working with children, adolescents, and adults.
