The ideal candidate will serve as a skill builder, guiding families and youth in acquiring essential skills identified in their care plans.

This role involves case coordination and delivering family-centered support to high-risk children and their caregivers within their homes and communities, utilizing a wraparound approach.

The services and safety principles taught in this position will empower family members to engage with community resources and enhance their communication, social, and parenting skills throughout the wraparound process.

The specialist will collaborate with the WISe team, including clinicians, to provide integrated behavioral health services. Work hours are flexible and tailored to family needs.

Key Responsibilities:

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES


Engage with families in a compassionate manner, fostering trust, respect, and enthusiasm for their journey.

Offer non-judgmental, culturally sensitive support to both the child and family.


Collaborate effectively with WISe team members and other service providers to ensure seamless service delivery.

Tailor support strategies to align with the family's unique strengths, culture, and interests.


Provide crisis intervention and stabilization services, developing and communicating safety plans with families and team members.

Assist clients in maintaining stability within the community, thereby minimizing reliance on hospital or involuntary treatment services.

Coordinate and lead wraparound team meetings, including the creation of cross-system care plans.

Deliver direct support interventions that:
Respond promptly and collaboratively to crises.

Offer a variety of therapeutic responses that align with both mental health treatment and cross-system care plans.

Adapt individual and family intervention techniques to suit each unique situation.

Facilitate skill-building activities for youth and families as necessary.

Leverage family strengths, goals, and visions in addressing specific needs.

Guide families in effectively utilizing community resources, both formal and informal.


Complete all documentation in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.

Seek guidance and report concerns to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.


Inspire confidence in families and team members regarding their strengths and potential for success.

Understand the family's position within the wraparound process and identify necessary actions for each phase.

Assist youth and families in realizing their transition plans as they prepare to exit WISe services.

Participate in staff meetings, consultations, case presentations, and training sessions.

Engage in ongoing program development and evaluation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Possess a foundational understanding of child and youth development and behavioral health interventions.

Familiarity with wraparound principles and recovery concepts in behavioral health; apply these principles appropriately in practice.


Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new skills and manage multiple tasks while effectively handling crises.

Exhibit proficiency in utilizing technology.

Ability to appreciate and work effectively with a diverse population.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in social sciences required.


Preferred: One year of experience in a non-profit or social service setting working with youth and families in need of support.

Knowledge of youth development, family dynamics, and effective interpersonal and behavioral management skills.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record.

Must obtain a WA State Agency Affiliated Counselor credential within the first 60 days of employment.

Must successfully pass a criminal background check.
