About the Role

We are seeking a skilled HVAC Controls Systems Designer to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and programming HVAC control systems to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and program HVAC control systems using established standards and best practices.
  • Provide detailed information and submittals to communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, and installation teams.
  • Respond to basic warranty calls and troubleshoot issues with subcontractors and other trades.
  • Coordinate the creation of necessary drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation.
  • Select, order, and track the delivery of materials for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate factory-mounting processes to meet factory and project schedule.
  • Assist in the loading and commissioning of all system and network-level controllers.
  • Gather field changes from the project team and create as-built drawings and software.
  • Prepare proper documentation and/or manuals for system operation.
  • Keep management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Assist in performing site-specific training for owner/operator on the total system.
  • Complete paperwork including time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two years of experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems including system-level controllers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude.
  • Demonstrated advanced computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or computer science.
  • Experience with installing and/or commissioning controls systems including system-level controllers.
