Job Overview

The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Project Manager and Assistant Project Manager in the strategic planning and daily operations of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Project Schedule Management: Oversee specific elements of the project timeline as designated by the Project Manager. This includes managing the submittal approval process, responding to Requests for Information (RFIs), coordinating timely material deliveries, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.

Integrity and Company Values: Uphold the company's core values and safety initiatives, demonstrating commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Budget Management: Assist in the proactive management of the project budget by monitoring expenses, processing owner and subcontractor billings, and identifying any work outside the subcontractor's scope.

Preconstruction Services
  • Establish procedures for managing contract drawings.
  • Initiate the job management system setup.
  • Assist in developing scopes of work and bid packages while soliciting subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Begin the building permit application process.
Project Start-up and Scheduling

Contribute to the creation of the site utilization plan and assist in reviewing and coordinating safety and quality control programs.

Project Administration and Coordination

Ensure timely processing of all submittal data and shop drawings to maintain project schedules and material deliveries.

Conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractors and assist in preparing progress reports and meeting minutes.

Customer Relations

Foster effective relationships with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring alignment with company values and customer expectations.

Culture and Employee Development

Act as a role model by promoting professional behavior and participating in personal career development opportunities.

Working Conditions

Most tasks are performed on job sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols and appropriate use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with entry-level experience or relevant internships in the construction industry.

Demonstrated ability to organize resources, manage multiple tasks, and make informed decisions under pressure is essential.

Proficiency in using computer applications, including Microsoft Office, is required.
