Position Overview
The Senior Heavy Construction Project Leader will manage the daily operations of construction initiatives valued between $5M and $100M. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are executed safely, on time, and within the allocated budget.

Key Responsibilities
The Project Leader will hold the ultimate accountability for the successful execution of the project. This encompasses:
  • Overall responsibility for project estimation, budgeting, scheduling, contract adherence, safety protocols, quality assurance, project completion, and client satisfaction.
  • Provision of labor and equipment resources to ensure adequate project staffing.
  • Monitoring construction progress and establishing strategic project objectives.
  • Engagement with field supervision and project engineering teams, offering training and guidance for professional development.

Essential Functions
The Project Leader will:
  • Oversee an entire heavy highway, road, and/or bridge construction project or a significant segment of a larger project.
  • Plan and execute complex or technical tasks requiring sound judgment and decision-making.
  • Manage field construction activities, engineering, and other project support functions.
  • Ensure contract execution aligns with schedule and budgetary constraints.
  • Establish and maintain relationships as the primary contact with the client.
  • Administer contracts while safeguarding the company's rights and remedies regarding changes.
  • Assemble the craft workforce necessary for contract execution and directly manage field supervision.
  • Utilize negotiation and contract management skills to represent the company with clients and external agencies.

Required Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 5-10 years of recent experience in heavy highway, road, and bridge construction management.
  • Experience managing medium to large heavy highway, road, and bridge construction projects valued at $50M or more.
  • Familiarity with the local construction landscape.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification is advantageous.
  • A proven history of effectively organizing workforces to achieve project objectives.
  • A comprehensive understanding of various construction disciplines.
