Shift: 12 Hours - Day Shifts

Key Responsibilities

This role involves delivering compassionate care to assigned residents in a secure and efficient manner, adhering to established standards, procedures, and personalized resident care plans.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough nursing assessments for all residents upon admission and continuously as per state and federal regulations, utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation).
  • Exhibiting proficiency in clinical skills as outlined in the Competency Verification and Training Checklist.
  • Ensuring residents receive prescribed medications, treatments, and procedures promptly, while implementing appropriate infection control measures.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the therapeutic effects and potential side effects of all administered medications.
  • Gathering necessary equipment and supplies to provide care effectively.
  • Following established procedures for managing pressure ulcers, dehydration, malnutrition, incontinence, pain, and medication administration.
  • Accurately performing glucometer testing and control monitoring in accordance with protocols.
  • Implementing tailored approaches to address behavioral issues and enhance residents' emotional well-being as per their care plans.
  • Overseeing the completion of resident care documentation and updating records as necessary.
  • Utilizing the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system accurately and documenting all actions related to changes in resident conditions.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives, including audits and corrective actions as assigned.
  • Processing physician orders promptly and notifying physicians of any relevant updates.
  • Engaging in resident report discussions prior to the start of shifts and sharing vital information regarding residents' conditions.
  • Responding swiftly to resident call lights and assisting with education for residents and their families regarding care processes.

Qualifications

Applicants must be graduates of an accredited nursing program. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Candidates should maintain required certifications and licensure for the state of practice.

Knowledge of fundamental nursing skills and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of medications is essential.
