Position Overview:
  • Conduct expert evaluations, servicing, repairs, and upkeep of high-capacity boiler systems
  • Facilitate safe excavation practices to protect main utility lines
  • Oversee renovation initiatives related to boiler and utility systems
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project teams
  • Secure necessary permits from state and local authorities
  • Assist in inspections and coordinate with insurance representatives
  • Deliver repairs and maintenance for heating and plumbing systems
  • Supervise fellow facility staff and contractors
  • Support the maintenance of the boiler system's chemical treatment program
  • Provide urgent service for high-pressure steam systems
  • Encourage a culture of workplace safety
  • Operate organizational vehicles as required
Qualifications:
  • Master Plumber's License in Vermont
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in plumbing and heating system maintenance, including commercial boilers
  • Proven expertise in skilled trades
  • Type S A-1 Electrical License in Vermont
  • Certification in Natural Gas in Vermont
  • Fuel Oil Burning Installer Certification (NORA Silver)
  • Backflow Prevention Certification or willingness to obtain
  • Proficient in using computers and mobile technology
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
Compensation:

$34 to $37 per hour

Additional Information:
  • This position is part of a bargaining unit
  • A probationary period may be necessary
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required
  • Standard 40-hour work week
  • Background checks and physical examinations are mandatory
