Job Title: Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B

We are seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician Class B to join our team at Performance Foodservice. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, replacing, adjusting, and modifying company vehicles, vans, pick-up trucks, tractors, trailers, and various types of refrigeration, air conditioning, and temperature control equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform all preventive maintenance and mechanic work on all company trucks and trailers to minimize the effect on deliveries.
  • Lubricate chassis, trans, wheel hubs, rear axles, and 5th wheels.
  • Check and replace belts as necessary.
  • Check and replace brake shoes as necessary.
  • Check and replace wheel bearings as necessary.
  • Check and replace clutches as necessary.
  • Check for electrical problems.
  • Maintain anti-freeze as needed.
  • Replace starters, alternators, and generators.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience.
