As an Extrusion Technician, you will operate and maintain co-extrusion machinery, including the cooling tower and liquid smoke application systems. You will ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements, taking corrective actions as necessary to address quality or food safety issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve quality and food safety issues promptly.
- Support and implement process improvements.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery.
- Analyze information and develop alternative solutions.
- Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
- Read and interpret written instructions.
- Adhere to all safety and food safety regulations.
- Obtain forklift certification as required.
- Utilize cleaning chemicals and sanitation processes effectively.
- Use computer systems for inventory management and documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
- Rotate through various positions as needed.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Experience:
Previous experience as a machine operator in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
Proficiency in reading, comprehending, and writing in English is essential.
Basic math skills are necessary.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as required.
Must thrive in a fast-paced environment with quick hand-eye coordination for product handling.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally, and perform frequent lifting and bending tasks.Must be able to work in wet and cold conditions.
Competence in completing paperwork and SAP functions as needed for the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a Machine Operator is advantageous.
