Responsibilities

Join a dynamic and energetic team at the forefront of the digital transformation in systems engineering. As the government evolves its approach to managing increasingly intricate systems and capabilities, the shift from traditional systems engineering methods to Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) is essential. This transformation aims to enhance engineering quality, manage complexity, and drive efficiencies in cost and scheduling throughout the acquisition process. Arcfield is actively seeking skilled MBSE modelers and subject matter experts to lead this initiative across various domains.

The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in:

  • Evaluating engineering artifacts and creating models of mission systems utilizing a suite of MBSE tools, including commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions. Experience with UAF, SysML, UML, or other industry-standard modeling languages is essential.
  • Implementing systems engineering modeling methodologies to develop mission models, with a preference for candidates familiar with UPDM or UAF meta-model frameworks.
  • Establishing and demonstrating appropriate data standards and structures, alongside supporting technologies, to meet data management needs for customer mission-based models.
  • Integrating enterprise tools and formulating MBSE-based processes to enhance requirements engineering, support various development processes, and manage system integration for new initiatives.
  • Facilitating collaborative discussions between MBSE users and tool development teams to identify modeling requirements and innovate solutions.
  • Providing expert guidance to senior management on the development and implementation of new MBSE methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 12-15 years of experience, or a Master's/PhD with 10+ years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Degree in engineering, physics, programming, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven knowledge and practical application of UML/SysML modeling languages, with experience in MBSE solutions.
  • Proficiency in using Cameo or similar UML-based architecture modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with standard DoDAF architectural frameworks, including UPDM and/or UAF.
  • Experience in systems engineering processes throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Basic understanding of architecture, requirements engineering, verification, testing, and system integration.
  • Experience in MBSE implementation from conceptual to physical stages, including data modeling and model querying.
  • Strong communication skills, particularly with tool developers and senior government officials.
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders and lead initiatives.
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
