Lead GEOINT Radar Systems Engineer
Arcfield is dedicated to safeguarding the nation and its allies through advancements in digital transformation, space mission engineering, launch assurance, miniaturized sensors and satellites, advanced modeling and simulation, cybersecurity, and support for both conventional and hypersonic missile systems. With a headquarters in Chantilly, VA, and 16 global offices, Arcfield employs over 1,500 professionals, including engineers, analysts, and IT specialists, boasting more than 60 years of combined experience in supporting missions across cyber and space defense, space exploration, hypersonic and nuclear deterrence, and warfighter readiness.
ResponsibilitiesThis role will function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) as part of a GEOINT (RADAR and/or EO) team engaged in Systems Engineering and Lifecycle Readiness activities for both established and emerging GEOINT systems.
The selected candidate will ensure that Integration and Closure activities within the GEOINT domain are identified and executed effectively. This individual will collaborate with a team to coordinate, support, and evaluate requirements, CONOPs, architectural products, system schedules, and risks, while also supporting testing and verification strategies as well as the integration of new initiatives to enhance mission capabilities.
The ideal candidate will possess the ability to evaluate processes and continuously create efficiencies, leading GEOINT-related projects. Given the diverse nature of the team's workload, familiarity with end-to-end GEOINT activities, including sensor operation, processing, and distribution, is highly desirable.
The candidate will spearhead various system readiness events and participate in independent review teams, necessitating a robust background in systems engineering. Interaction with multiple Acquisition Offices (AOs) will be essential, facilitating risk and action closure with these offices and users, leading technical consultations, coordinating meetings, and providing support for recommendation briefings.
The Integration and Closure team is tasked with evaluating the acquisition-level closure of requirements, leading system-level readiness events in support of enterprise, system, and acquisition-level milestones, assisting in project planning, generating and presenting engineering briefings, and interfacing with a wide range of customers.
This position demands a comprehensive understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, with a strong emphasis on core systems engineering processes to support end-to-end mission and service closure.
This opportunity also presents exciting avenues for training and exposure to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). While prior experience with MBSE, SysML, and digital tools is preferred, it is not mandatory.
Qualifications- 10-12 years of experience with a BS/BA, 8-10 years with an MS, or 5-7 years with a PhD.
- Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
- Over 8 years of experience with space/ground systems and systems engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
- Strong leadership experience, including managing technical and matrixed teams.
- Experience in Integration and Closure within the overall customer domain and Technology Insertion.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to interact professionally within the work environment.
- Self-motivated individual who takes initiative and thrives on learning and collaboration.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of GEOINT systems and the overall space and ground architecture.
- Expertise in mission technical capabilities and system performance assessment, including experience with Mission Planning, Control, or Processing functions.
- Experience in identifying user and enterprise needs/requirements, along with gap identification, analysis, and assessment.
- Experience supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPs development, and system integration to facilitate End-to-End GEOINT Systems Engineering.
- Commitment to recognizing, understanding, respecting, and operating effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority.
