Chantilly, Virginia, United States Arcfield Full time
Overview

Arcfield stands as a premier provider of comprehensive lifecycle, mission-driven systems engineering and integration services to the U.S. government and allied nations. With over 60 years of established expertise, the company delivers advanced engineering and analytical solutions, IT, and C5ISR capabilities to address our nation's most pressing national security challenges. Headquartered in Chantilly, VA, and operating 16 offices globally, Arcfield employs around 1,200 engineers, analysts, IT professionals, and other specialists dedicated to prioritizing customer missions and tackling complex challenges through innovative modeling, simulation, analysis, and digital transformation.

Responsibilities

This role will function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), offering Systems Engineering Technical Assistance (SETA) support within a GEOINT (RADAR and/or EO) team, engaging in Systems Engineering and Lifecycle Readiness activities for both established and emerging GEOINT systems.

The selected candidate will ensure that Integration and Closure activities within the GEOINT domain are identified and executed effectively. As a team member, the candidate will coordinate, support, and evaluate requirements, CONOPs, architectural products, system timelines, and risks, while also contributing to test and verification strategies and the integration of new initiatives aimed at enhancing mission capabilities.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to assess processes and continuously create efficiencies, leading GEOINT-related projects. Given the diverse nature of the team's workload, a strong understanding of end-to-end GEOINT activities, including sensor operation, processing, and distribution, is preferred.

The candidate will oversee various system readiness events and participate in independent review teams, necessitating a robust background in systems engineering. Interaction with multiple Acquisition Offices (AOs) will be essential, facilitating risk and action closure with these offices and users, while leading technical consultations, coordinating meetings, and supporting recommendation briefings.

The Integration and Closure team is tasked with evaluating the acquisition-level closure of requirements, leading system-level readiness events in support of enterprise, system, and acquisition milestones, planning projects, generating and presenting engineering briefings, and engaging with numerous customers.

This position demands a solid understanding of the intelligence community and customer domain, coupled with a strong emphasis on core systems engineering processes to support end-to-end mission and service closure.

This opportunity also presents exciting avenues for training and exposure to Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). While prior experience with MBSE, SysML, and digital tools is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

Qualifications
  • 10-12 years of experience with a BS/BA, 8-10 years with an MS, or 5-7 years with a PhD.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI clearance with Poly.
  • Over 8 years of experience with space/ground systems and systems engineering.
  • BS in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
  • Strong leadership experience, including managing technical and matrixed teams.
  • Experience in Integration and Closure within the overall customer domain, as well as Tech Insertion experience.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to engage professionally within the work environment.
  • Self-motivated individual who takes initiative and thrives on collaboration.
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of GEOINT systems and the overall space and ground architecture.
  • Expertise in mission technical capabilities and system performance assessment, including experience with Mission Planning, Control, or Processing functions supporting space and ground architecture.
  • Experience in identifying user and enterprise needs/requirements, along with gap identification, analysis, and assessment.
  • Experience in supporting Requirements Engineering, CONOPs development, and system integration to facilitate End-to-End GEOINT Systems Engineering.
  • Commitment to recognizing, understanding, respecting, and operating effectively within various SETA, FFRDC, and Government lines of authority.
