POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The primary responsibility is to welcome and guide guests to their tables within the Food and Beverage outlets, overseeing all personnel, and ensuring a courteous and efficient dining experience to achieve guest satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Oversee all service staff, including providing guidance and managing performance to uphold service standards.
  • Greet guests upon arrival, offer seating options, and escort them to their designated tables while presenting the menu.
  • Maintain a daily logbook to facilitate communication between shifts and management.
  • Ensure the dining area is properly set up and enforce uniform and grooming standards for all service staff.
  • Conduct daily meetings to inform staff about current promotions, daily specials, guest feedback, and important announcements.
  • Manage reservations and special event arrangements in the restaurant.
  • Complete daily reports for servers and cashiers.
  • Handle cash deposits and maintain the cash register.
  • Collect payments from guests or servers and finalize checks.
  • Supervise food and beverage staff in the absence of the Restaurant Manager and F&B Manager.
  • Close the restaurant at the end of service.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Regular attendance is crucial for the successful execution of this role. Employees with inconsistent attendance may face disciplinary measures, including potential termination.

Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality sector, employees may be required to work varied schedules based on the hotel's operational needs.

All employees must adhere to the established rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of hotel facilities. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to the essential functions, this role may require performing a variety of supportive tasks, as determined by the supervisor based on the hotel's specific needs.

Maintain open communication channels between guests, management, and staff.

Serve coffee and tea throughout the outlet, refilling guests' cups as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The ideal candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Basic understanding of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations.
  • Familiarity with appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand menus, promotions, and guest orders.
  • Capacity to remember and promote various menu items.
  • Ability to navigate through crowded spaces to seat guests.
  • Proficient in addressing guest complaints and concerns in a friendly and constructive manner.
  • Basic math skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is primarily indoors, with protection from the elements but not necessarily from temperature fluctuations. The work environment is fast-paced, requiring considerable movement throughout the shift.

Physical activities include walking, standing, talking, bending, reaching, and interacting with a diverse range of individuals.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A combination of education, training, or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. A high school diploma is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior supervisory experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Ability to obtain any required licenses or certifications. CPR and First Aid training are preferred.

GROOMING STANDARDS:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance in accordance with established standards.
