POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The primary responsibility is to welcome and guide guests to their tables in the Food and Beverage areas, overseeing all personnel to ensure a courteous and efficient dining experience that guarantees guest satisfaction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  1. Oversee all service staff, including providing guidance and addressing performance issues to uphold service excellence.
  2. Welcome guests upon arrival, offer seating options, and escort them to their designated tables while presenting the menu.
  3. Maintain a daily logbook to facilitate communication between shifts and management.
  4. Ensure the dining area is properly set up and enforce grooming and uniform standards for all service staff.
  5. Conduct daily briefings to inform staff about current promotions, specials, guest feedback, and important updates.
  6. Manage reservations and special event arrangements within the restaurant.
  7. Complete daily reports for servers and cashiers.
  8. Handle cash deposits and maintain financial records.
  9. Process payments from guests and finalize checks.
  10. Supervise food and beverage personnel in the absence of the Restaurant Manager and F&B Manager.
  11. Close the restaurant at the end of service.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:

Regular attendance is crucial for the successful execution of this role. Employees with inconsistent attendance may face disciplinary measures, including potential termination.

Due to the dynamic nature of the hospitality sector, employees may need to adapt to varying schedules based on the hotel's operational needs.

All employees must adhere to the established rules and regulations for the safe and efficient functioning of hotel facilities. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

In addition to the essential functions, this role may require performing various supportive tasks as determined by management based on the hotel's specific needs.

Maintain effective communication between guests, management, and staff.

Serve coffee and tea throughout the dining area, refilling guests' cups as requested.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, and guest relations.
  • Familiarity with appropriate table settings, service ware, and menu items.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to understand menus, promotions, and guest orders.
  • Capability to remember and promote various menu items.
  • Ability to navigate through crowded dining areas to seat guests.
  • Skill in addressing guest complaints and concerns with empathy and proactive solutions.
  • Basic mathematical skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position is primarily indoors, protected from weather conditions but may experience temperature fluctuations.

The work environment is fast-paced, requiring significant movement throughout the shift.

Physical activities include standing and walking for approximately 95% of the workday, along with various movements such as bending, reaching, and handling.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A combination of education, training, or experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities is preferred. A high school diploma is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE:

Prior supervisory experience in a restaurant setting is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS:

Ability to obtain any required licenses or certifications. CPR and First Aid training are preferred.

GROOMING STANDARDS:

All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance in accordance with established standards.
