The Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) will play a pivotal role in the automation and performance testing landscape, focusing on chaos engineering and supporting our trading platform. Ideal candidates will possess a robust testing background, particularly in electronic trading systems and Fixed Income Markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct a streamlined interview process consisting of a 45-minute virtual meeting with the VP of Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with Playwright is essential, along with a strong background in the FinTech sector, specifically in FIX Protocol testing.
  • We seek an individual who has effectively utilized Playwright to enhance and expand existing frameworks promptly.

Work Schedule: 4 days in the office (Monday-Thursday), 1 day (Friday) remote.

Essential Qualifications
  • Proficient in JavaScript and TypeScript automation utilizing Playwright.
  • Experience in performance and stress testing methodologies.
  • Expertise in UI and API automation.
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects and comprehend distributed enterprise architecture.
  • Proficient in FIX protocol testing and automation.
  • Familiarity with Fixed Income trading is advantageous.
  • Understanding of SSO and token-based security testing.
  • Knowledge of OWASP security standards.
Core Duties
  • Lead the design, development, and execution of automated testing programs and scripts for regression, performance, and load testing for both GUI/Frontend and Backend applications (API, FIX, etc.).
  • Oversee functional and performance testing of new products while conducting regression tests on existing products during each release cycle.
  • Manage automation, testing, documentation, defect tracking, and information flow across multiple projects during each cycle.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Go to Market, and Support teams to clarify specifications, raise issues, and identify risks throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Develop efficient and effective automated test cases and scripts based on specification documents and user interactions, creating test scenarios to validate new functionalities and stress conditions (both automated and manual).
  • Investigate production issues by replicating them in test environments, collaborating with development for resolution, and coordinating with Application Support for releases.
  • Drive the development of new automation tools while maintaining existing ones.
  • Contribute actively to ongoing process improvements to streamline the development lifecycle.
  • Stay updated on changes in browser capabilities and multimedia development standards to ensure comprehensive testing.
Desired Experience
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks/tools for UI, API, and Performance testing. Familiarity with FIX protocol testing is a bonus.
  • Strong understanding of one or more Object-Oriented programming languages, with a preference for JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python.
  • Solid experience with modern web-based testing frameworks/tools such as Playwright, PyTest, Selenium, and Postman (or similar).
  • Experience in architecting and implementing test automation solutions and frameworks for both front-end and back-end systems.
  • Thorough understanding of Git workflows in GitHub, GitLab, or similar version control systems.
  • Experience in configuring and developing CI/CD solutions with tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab.
  • Familiarity with Test Driven Development concepts.
  • Experience collaborating with developers on test automation scenarios through pairing, reviewing API, integration, and E2E tests.
  • Ability to independently accomplish complex engineering tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, preferably within finance or a related field.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment is a significant advantage.
