Job Details

We are in search of a Building Controls Systems Engineer with a strong background in BAS System and BMS Applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing timely and precise submittals for mechanical engineering approvals, generating controller software sequences, and developing workstation and server databases with graphics and reporting tools. The Systems Engineer should possess technical expertise in integrated systems and the capability to resolve complex issues or guide others through problem resolution.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in the HVAC/controls industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Strong interest in Building Automation and Controls
  • Proficiency in DDC Controller Programming and third-party device integration with BACnet and Modbus preferred
  • Familiarity with mechanical system operations
  • Basic understanding of the construction process preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Automated Logic WebCTRL is a plus


Duties:
  • Design, integrate, and support network migration for Internet / Ethernet / BACnet / Modbus platforms
  • Produce drawings, sequences of operation, and bills of material for building automation systems for submission to project Engineers/teams
  • Develop BMS software databases (programming and graphics) in accordance with engineering documents and project specifications
  • Maintain accurate As-Built drawing packages and make necessary changes in AutoCAD, Visio, Excel, and Word
  • Conduct field visits as necessary to adjust design sequences for optimal operation with actual systems and support technicians during functional checkout and commissioning activities
  • Engage in self-study to enhance knowledge of required job skills and stay updated on industry trends
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with team members, clients, and consulting engineers
  • Provide value engineering recommendations where applicable
  • Collaborate with the consulting engineering community to promote personal and company growth
  • Conduct surveys and generate repair recommendations and reports for clients
  • Stay informed on the latest products, technologies, and applications available
  • Mentor junior colleagues
  • Develop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending, and billing programs
  • Uphold confidentiality
