Position Details:

We are in search of a Building Controls Systems Engineer with expertise in BAS and BMS applications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering timely and precise submittals for mechanical engineering approvals, developing controller software sequences, and constructing workstation and server databases complete with graphics and reporting tools. The Systems Engineer should possess technical proficiency in integrated systems and have the capability to navigate complex problem resolutions.

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience in the HVAC/controls sector
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
  • Strong enthusiasm for Building Automation and Controls is essential
  • Experience with DDC Controller Programming and third-party device integration using BACnet and Modbus is preferred
  • Familiarity with mechanical system operations
  • Basic understanding of the construction process is advantageous
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with Automated Logic WebCTRL is a plus

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, integrate, and support network migration for Internet/Ethernet/BACnet/Modbus platforms
  • Create drawings, sequences of operation, and bills of material for building automation systems for submission to project engineers/teams
  • Develop BMS software databases (programming and graphics) in line with engineering documents and project specifications
  • Maintain an accurate As-Built drawing package and update changes in AutoCAD, Visio, Excel, and Word as necessary
  • Conduct site visits as needed to adjust design sequences for optimal operation with actual systems and assist technicians in functional checkout and commissioning activities to meet project timelines
  • Engage in self-study to enhance job-related skills and stay updated on industry trends
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with company managers, engineers, technicians, clients, and consulting engineers
  • Provide value engineering recommendations where applicable
  • Collaborate with the consulting engineering community to promote personal and company growth and maintain design discussions throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct surveys and generate repair recommendations and reports for clients
  • Stay informed on the latest products, technologies, and applications available
  • Mentor junior colleagues
  • Develop custom energy reporting, power metering, trending, and billing programs
  • Uphold confidentiality at all times
