Job SummaryThe Assistant Director Nursing is a key leadership role within our nursing department, responsible for overseeing the operations and functions of our nursing units. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Support the overall direction and coordination of nursing operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.
- Assist in managing the overall operations of the nursing department, including budgeting, staffing, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Promote patient-focused care and strive to meet customer expectations for quality and satisfaction.
- Develop and implement employee engagement plans to improve staff satisfaction and retention.
- Manage and meet financial performance targets, including revenue performance and budget control.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
- Oversee various personnel actions, including hiring, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.
- Utilize performance management expertise to facilitate the achievement of department goals and hold staff accountable for adherence to department and hospital policies.
- Minimum of Bachelor Science in Nursing with 1 year of RN experience OR 7 years of RN experience required; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of leadership experience preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Florida.
- Other certifications/qualifications may be required based on the specific unit or specialty.
