Position Overview:

Pure Storage, a frontrunner in the data storage and flash technology arena, is on the lookout for a skilled and enthusiastic Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to join our vibrant team.


In the role of Pre-Sales Systems Engineer, you will be pivotal in grasping our clients' distinct challenges and customizing Pure Storage solutions to address their specific requirements.

Working closely with the sales team, you will serve as a technical authority throughout the sales journey, assisting in demonstrating the value of our offerings.


Key Responsibilities:

Develop a comprehensive understanding of the factors that drive a customer's business and influence their decision-making processes.

Link technology solutions, including the Pure Storage portfolio and other ecosystem offerings, to quantifiable customer business results.

Collaborate closely with account managers, specialists, and channel partners to deliver a seamless and integrated customer experience, driving revenue growth and new business opportunities.

Effectively communicate the benefits of a Pure Storage solution with enthusiasm.

Impress customers and colleagues with your technical expertise and knowledge of storage products, distributed storage architectures, file systems, and competitive storage solutions in the DAS, NAS, and SAN domains.

Manage evaluations, benchmarks, and system configurations with confidence.

Create and present technical product and architecture presentations passionately to clients, securing technical wins with both current and prospective accounts.

Translate customer business needs into innovative solutions that accelerate their growth and capabilities.

Contribute significantly to or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.

Identify and promote new opportunities for interoperability, functional, and performance testing/validation.

Facilitate mutual roadmap and planning discussions.

Work with product and technical marketing to develop materials (e.g., whitepapers, web presentations) that support overall alliance strategies and objectives.

Stay informed about competitors and ensure that materials accurately reflect the latest, differentiated solution positioning.

Adapt to market trends and the competitive landscape to foster thought leadership within our organization.

Qualifications:
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE...

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Experience in pre-sales is essential.

A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience across technology, design, and communication. Experience in selling enterprise storage, networking, systems, cloud, or software to enterprise clients is preferred.

A deep understanding of the architecture, design, and implementation of multi-tiered client/server and web-based computing solutions.

Familiarity with modern web architecture is a plus (LAMP stack, scale-out vs. scale-up architectures, AWS well-architected framework, microservices architecture).

Prior experience in targeting new prospects and converting them into clients.

Contribute significantly to or lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.

Extensive knowledge of current and emerging storage architectures (FC, iSCSI, NAS, OSD, SAN).

Previous experience with Linux, NFS file systems, and Linux distributed network environments.

Installation/configuration of distributed computing, multiprocessing, virtual memory subsystems, storage subsystems architecture, shared memory architectures, cache architectures, and windowing systems.

Strong knowledge of digital transformation to a Cloud Native architecture, On-Prem, Public Cloud, Provisioning Automation, and Containers.

Familiarity with VMware, Local Area Networking, Ethernet, TCP/IP, and general networking.

Knowledge of AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus.

Familiarity with containers, Kubernetes, and microservices architectures is advantageous.

A genuine curiosity and passion for technology, along with the ability to explain and demonstrate new technology platforms and concepts to customers.

Familiarity with storage-intensive applications and their requirements, such as structured databases (SQL, Oracle), is highly desirable.

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Pay Range:

For positions open to candidates in multiple geographical locations, the base salary range reflects the labor market across applicable locations.

This role may be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.
