Role Summary:
Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Industrial Engineer in a dynamic environment. In this capacity, you will:

  • Utilize advanced Industrial Engineering principles to evaluate business operations and minimize inefficiencies.
  • Collaborate with facilities engineers to assist in the planning of new production facilities.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineers in establishing benchmarks and assessing shop performance against objectives.
  • Create simulations of production processes for upcoming programs and conduct analyses to identify resource limitations, workflow, layout, and scheduling to meet delivery goals.
  • Analyze data systems to uncover issues and drive enhancements.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, ensuring effective implementation and sustainability while demonstrating measurable outcomes.
  • Provide occasional support during weekends or off-hours as necessary to uphold production schedules.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge and/or experience in project management within a Manufacturing, Quality, or Logistics context. Candidates must be U.S. citizens as this role requires a government security clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
Industrial Engineers thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment, leveraging cutting-edge technologies in PLM, MRP, MES, Discrete Event Simulation, Data Analytics, and Data Visualization Software to generate analyses and metrics that inform critical business decisions.

This role will deliver data-driven insights that enable the production team to optimize manufacturing schedules and reduce costs. Interaction with the production operations team will provide the Industrial Engineer with a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, facilitating the delivery of valuable data-driven solutions to internal stakeholders.

Collaboration across all functional areas throughout the product lifecycle in a production setting is essential. The candidate will have the opportunity to contribute significant solutions to various departments and align program priorities.

The Industrial Engineering team is recognized for delivering innovative capabilities and process enhancements that continuously redefine the aerospace industry.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in project management through coursework or practical application.
  • Background in Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, or similar fields.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for this position due to the necessity of a government security clearance.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience applying industrial engineering methodologies and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high-performing team and effectively manage conflicts.
  • Familiarity with SAP, Apriso, VECAMS, Tableau, Simio, or other simulation tools.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation), particularly with Production Operations and Program Offices.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, organize, and prioritize assignments.
  • Experience in production environments and/or new production programs.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing simulations.
  • Experience in developing, monitoring, and reporting metrics related to cost and schedule performance.
  • Ability to create effective PowerPoint presentations and communicate with senior leadership.
  • Secret security clearance is preferred.
