Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will provide Tier 1 (HelpDesk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT/Cybersecurity and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 (HelpDesk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) Support: The Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator will provide technical support to our clients, identifying and resolving problems in a timely and efficient manner.
- Escalate and Communicate Status: The successful candidate will escalate complex issues to senior team members and communicate status to agency management and internal customers.
- Observe, Analyze, and Report Data: The Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator will observe and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Perform Repairs and Maintenance: The successful candidate will perform repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Use Engineering and Documentation: The Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator will use various engineering and documentation to perform assigned tasks.
- Shift Work: The position requires shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- US Citizenship: The successful candidate must be a US citizen.
- Top Secret Clearance: The Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator must have an active Top Secret clearance and be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
- DHS Suitability: The successful candidate must be able to obtain DHS Suitability.
- IT Experience: The Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator must have 2+ years of directly relevant NOC ServiceDesk Tier-1 experience, including Windows or Linux Systems Administration, general troubleshooting, triage, or performance of specific tasks.
- Education: The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering, or a related discipline. Six (6) years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for a degree.
- Shift Work: The position requires shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Technical Skills: The Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator must have experience with M365, Call Distribution Systems, Microsoft Windows (10, 11), SharePoint, VMware, Red Hat, and system health monitoring and status reporting.
- Documentation: The successful candidate must have experience documenting problems and resolutions using an IT Service Management (ITSM) incident tracking/ticketing system.
- Administrative Duties: The Cyber Watch Officer / Systems Administrator must have experience performing various administrative duties and providing technical assistance to remotely located users.
Desired Skills and Certifications
- Agile Environment: Experience working in an Agile environment is desired.
- ITIL Methodology: Experience with ITIL methodology is desired.
- Shell Scripts and Scripting Languages: Experience with shell scripts and scripting languages, such as Bourne shell (sh), GNU Bourne-Again shell (bash), C shell (csh), Korn shell (ksh), Z shell (zsh), Python, PERL, Powershell, etc.
- Networking: Experience with TCP/IP, Cisco switches and routers, VLAN, firewall, VPN, storage arrays (RAID, Blades), cloud networking, etc.
- Incident Response: Experience performing incident response (tiered support model), using an Incident Management System.
- Tier II Experience: Prioritize incidents. Perform detailed troubleshooting, root cause analysis. Determine multi-user, multi-system correlations.
- Tier III Experience: Provide system administrative support to correct deficiencies noted in the trouble ticketing system for COTS and GOTS software packages.
- Customer Interface: Experience interfacing directly with customers and the program management team.
- Status Reporting: Experience providing status to program management and inputs to customer status reports.
- Certifications: Desired certifications include DoDI M IAT Level II Technical Certification (Security+ CE, CCNA + Security, SSCP, CISSP) or equivalent, and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification.
