About the Role

The Chief Operating Officer, Ambulatory Division provides strategic leadership to achieve operational and performance success for the Ambulatory Division of the University of California's Health Network Business Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute and deliver results for the Ambulatory Division, aligning with the network's strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with network leadership to drive operational excellence, clinical quality, and financial sustainability.
  • Build and inspire high-performing teams at existing and new ambulatory operations, driving growth and expansion.
  • Establish strong partnerships with community groups, physicians, and staff, fostering a culture of trust and commitment to excellence.
  • Develop and manage capital and operating budgets, ensuring financial stewardship and accountability.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant regulatory requirements, legislative, accreditation, licensing, and compliance environments.
Requirements
  • Extensive executive management experience in a complex healthcare organization.
  • Expert knowledge of healthcare delivery models, business and strategic planning, financial management, program development, and organizational development.
  • Experience with managing joint venture or affiliate partnership models, including pre-opening construction management and regulatory oversight.
  • Highly advanced ability to work collaboratively and effectively with medical center executives, campus leadership, external agencies, and other academic medical centers and healthcare institutions.
  • Expert ability to establish and utilize metrics to drive excellence, support operations, and facilitate integration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in business, health administration, or clinical degree.
