The Microsoft Federal division was created to meet the specific mission, legal, and regulatory requirements of the United States Government (USG). Microsoft Federal is dedicated to ensuring that its resources, including qualified, experienced, and certified personnel (with necessary security clearances), are available to address the evolving needs of the USG. As part of this commitment, Microsoft adopts a flexible approach to recruiting, hiring, and assigning personnel within the Microsoft Federal organization. Employees can expect to take on various roles throughout their careers to meet the changing demands of the USG, whether in Civilian, Defense, or Intelligence sectors.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field AND a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a relevant business area
    • OR equivalent experience
  • Possession of DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification or higher, or the ability to obtain it within the first 60 days of employment.

Additional Requirements

The ideal candidate must hold an active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance. Meeting Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements is mandatory for this role. Failure to maintain or secure the appropriate clearance may lead to employment actions, including termination.

Clearance Verification: This role necessitates successful verification of the stated security clearance to comply with federal government customer requirements. Candidates will be required to provide clearance verification information prior to receiving an employment offer.

Cloud Screening: Candidates must successfully complete a Microsoft Cloud background screening, which will be conducted bi-annually.

Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to legal restrictions. Specifically, this role supports U.S. federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to citizenship-based restrictions as required by law. To comply with this requirement, citizenship will be verified through a valid passport or other approved documents.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical certifications relevant to the domain/service line (e.g., Azure, Security, Dynamics).

Compensation: The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $97,800 - $189,400 per year. Different ranges apply to specific work locations.

Responsibilities:

  • Articulate value propositions for strategic Microsoft products and services, utilizing business, technology, and industry strategies to define customer/partner requirements.
  • Demonstrate expertise in specific solutions or multiple products, driving opportunities to enhance the adoption of Microsoft Cloud.
  • Support innovation focused on industry solutions and customer business outcomes on the Microsoft platform.
  • Ensure solutions align with architectural intent, facilitating clear build test specifications and operational guides for customers.
  • Identify business and technical risks in programs, assess their impact, and propose mitigations and contingencies.
  • Provide stakeholder assistance throughout deployment to resolve technical issues.
  • Balance Configure-Before-Customize principles with maximizing customer/partner value while utilizing Microsoft core assets, developing project plans that account for the full project lifecycle.
  • Design scalable and resilient Azure network architectures.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Azure networking.
  • Implement network security in Azure.
  • Configure and manage Azure virtual networks.
  • Understand Azure networking concepts, including Terraform, Bicep, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Work with Mission Landing Zones and low-code/no-code deployments.
