Job Title: Financial Analysis Consultant

Overview: The Institutional Retirement Solutions sector at Securian Financial Group is in search of a proficient Financial Analysis Consultant to assist with financial planning and analytical functions within the business unit and reinsured operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with the Vice President and CFO of Institutional Retirement Products to perform detailed analyses and formulate strategic recommendations.
  • Oversee the accounting, financial reporting, and management reporting processes for new product launches and enhancements.
  • Examine monthly and quarterly financial statements for Institutional Retirement Products and reinsured operations.
  • Assess financials related to reinsured operations, including reconciliations, expense evaluations, and profit & loss assessments.
  • Develop Excel-based models for financial forecasting and earnings assessments.
  • Tackle complex financial challenges and contribute to strategic planning initiatives.
  • Lead projects aimed at enhancing departmental efficiency and client service.
  • Participate in cross-functional financial planning and analysis projects.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate independently.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Solid understanding of financial and accounting principles.
  • Experience in problem-solving and process enhancement.
  • Proficiency in constructing financial models using Excel or similar applications.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four or more years of experience in corporate accounting or expense analysis.
  • Completion of a four-year degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Understanding of reinsurance accounting.
  • Preference for experience in Financial Services accounting and financial planning & analysis.

Physical Job Requirements:

  • Capability to work with a keyboard, computer, and/or mouse for extended durations.
  • Commitment to a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Daily use of phone and/or virtual meeting platforms.

Salary Range: $69,000 - $129,000
