Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Generalist to support various functions within our Human Resources department, with a primary focus on benefits and retirement services. This role requires an employee-customer-centric mindset, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will provide support for retirees, employees, and supervisors in addressing questions related to benefits, retirement plans, and workers' compensation claims. They will also serve as the initial point of contact for benefits-related inquiries, monitor pre-employment background checks, and ensure compliance with FCRA regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports retirees and employees with benefit-related inquiries, including pension plans, 403(b) retirement savings plans, and insurance plans.
  • Serves as the initial point of contact for benefits-related inquiries and provides timely and accurate follow-up.
  • Monitors pre-employment background checks for clearance and ensures FCRA compliance.
  • Assists in investigatory procedures for background check hits and troubleshoots delayed processing statuses.
  • Provides guidance to priests transitioning into retirement on Medicare, supplemental medical plans, and reimbursement of eligible medical expenses.
  • Submits human resources department invoices for payment and orders office supplies.
  • Maintains HR department's organizational Intranet pages, especially those related to benefits and retirement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or 2 years of human resources experience in lieu of Bachelor's.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a Human Resources department or 1 year of employment with the diocese.
  • Prior experience supporting retirement and benefits functions in HR is preferred.
  • Intermediate level MS Excel skills are preferred but not required.

Estimated Salary: $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
