About the Role

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences seeks an experienced Development and Fundraising Strategist, Major Donors, to join our team. This dynamic individual will lead the development and execution of strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors for the museum's film and education programming, exhibitions, accessibility initiatives, and capital needs.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated annual salary for this role is $120,000, with a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage, PTO and sick time, and a 401(k) retirement plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a multi-year fundraising strategy to secure significant gifts from major donors
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 125-150 key donors and prospects capable of giving at the Major Gifts ($100,000+) level
  • Meet and exceed annual revenue goals as well as Academy100 campaign goals and milestones
  • Collaborate with the VP, Advancement, and staff across the Advancement team to create exciting donor-focused gift proposals
  • Supervise two members of the individual giving team and support their respective portfolios
Requirements and Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree preferred
  • 8-10 years of successful fundraising experience, including direct solicitation and securing 6 and 7-figure gifts
  • Exceptional donor-relations skills and ability to establish and meet objectives and performance standards
  • Proven track record of success with fundraising systems and prospect identification
  • Experience in and connections within the entertainment industry strongly preferred
