Senior Development Officer for Strategic Partnerships

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Development Officer for Strategic Partnerships to join our Advancement team at the Los Angeles County Museum Of natural History Foundation.
Job SummaryThe Senior Development Officer will be responsible for leading our Major Gifts and Planned Giving efforts, working closely with senior staff and Trustees to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors contributing major gifts ($25,000+) and planned gifts. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to the growth and success of our museum.
Responsibilities- Develop and Execute Donor Engagement Strategies: Develop customized solicitation strategies based on strategic objectives of the museum and the interests of the donor, including the involvement of Executive Staff and members of the Board of Trustees, as appropriate.
- Cultivate and Steward Relationships: Develop and execute an ongoing major gifts and planned giving engagement and stewardship program and approach that includes in-person and phone contact, as well as electronic and print communication to maintain and deepen donor relationships.
- Manage Donor Prospects: Identify, qualify, and cultivate new donor prospects for major gifts and planned giving, working closely with the Associate Vice President of Philanthropy and other colleagues to build relationships and secure support.
- Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing and Communications, to ensure alignment and coordination of fundraising efforts and messaging.
- Experience and Qualifications: 3-5 years experience and demonstrated success in soliciting and closing leadership and planned gifts for a non-profit organization. Management experience preferred.
- Communication and Writing Skills: Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication, with the ability to write reports, business correspondence, proposals, and procedure manuals.
- Presentation and Computer Skills: Ability to effectively present information to internal and external constituents, including groups comprising donors, prospects, managers, executive staff, government officials, representatives of other institutions, and the general public. Familiarity with MS Office or G-suite products and nonprofit constituent relations management systems such as MS Dynamics, Raisers Edge, Donor Perfect, Millennium, or other similar systems.
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or equivalent.

Compensation and BenefitsThis is a full-time regular exempt position with a salary range of $134,654 - $144,789 annually, plus excellent benefits. The successful candidate will have a passion for developing strong relationships with donors and stakeholders, a proven track record of securing significant gifts, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
