The Accounting Clerk will assist with day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash receipts. This role will work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail and invoices to the appropriate department
  • Review payables for proper documentation and approvals before processing
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare and record cash deposits and arrange delivery to the bank
  • Assist with monitoring aging reports and collection of past due receipts
  • Audit daily revenue reports and credit card transactions
  • Maintain construction cost database system for specific projects
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school preferred
  • 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field, or the equivalent of 3 to 5 years of work experience
  • Proven working knowledge as an accounts payable clerk and ability to follow standard filing procedures
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Accurate data entry skills and proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures
  • Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
  • Hands-on experience with proprietary software, such as Sage 300 Construction (Timberline) and/or Abila MIP, helpful but not required
Working Conditions:

This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, move, and work throughout the office area and properties. The individual must be able to walk up to 1 1/2 miles, climb stairs, and use office equipment, including a computer keyboard, calculator, and multi-line telephone.
