Position Summary:

The Crisis Addiction Counselor (CAC) Level 1 plays a crucial role in delivering personalized counseling services to individuals facing addiction challenges. This position involves leading therapeutic groups, facilitating referrals to residential treatment options, and working in partnership with external organizations to assist clients in their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with clients experiencing substance use disorders.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions aimed at addressing addiction and associated mental health issues.
  • Manage referrals and admissions to inpatient rehabilitation facilities for clients requiring comprehensive care.
  • Engage with external entities, including legal systems and child welfare agencies, to advocate for clients and secure essential support services.
  • Perform thorough assessments and evaluations to determine clients' needs and create tailored treatment strategies.
  • Track client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary, ensuring objectives are achieved within a specified timeframe.
  • Maintain precise and current client documentation, recording all interactions and therapeutic interventions.
  • Stay updated on advancements in addiction treatment methodologies and engage in continuous professional development.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Certification as a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) Level 1 is mandatory.
  • Accreditation as a Licensed Certified Counselor (LCC).
  • Prior experience in addiction counseling or a related field is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to effectively engage with individuals from varied backgrounds.
  • Understanding of evidence-based approaches in addiction treatment.
