About the Role:
The State of Washington is seeking a proactive and analytical individual to join our Information Governance Office (IGO) team as an Information Governance Compliance Specialist. This role is essential in ensuring that our agency's data is managed responsibly and in accordance with applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
The Information Governance Compliance Specialist will be tasked with:

  • Overseeing compliance reviews of external entities accessing confidential information.
  • Acting as a liaison between various stakeholders to safeguard the privacy of sensitive data.
  • Developing frameworks to monitor adherence to data sharing agreements.
  • Conducting assessments and audits to ensure compliance with data security standards.
  • Collaborating with the Privacy and Data Protection Manager on projects related to privacy regulations.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, law, or a related field.
  • Two years of experience in managing government contracts or data sharing agreements.
  • Strong knowledge of confidentiality laws and data security requirements.

Preferred Skills:
Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in contract negotiation and compliance.
  • Familiarity with data privacy frameworks and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
