Position Overview

Compensation: $18.00 per hour

This is a part-time hourly role that operates on an as-needed basis.

As a Volunteer Engagement Coordinator, you will oversee the smooth execution of meal packing events, ensuring that volunteers have a fulfilling experience and that host organizations are pleased with the outcomes. Your responsibilities will include transporting necessary equipment and supplies using a box truck (no CDL required). You will serve as the face of Rise Against Hunger, utilizing your charismatic personality and public speaking abilities to inspire volunteers to contribute to our mission of eradicating hunger, one event at a time.

About Our Team

The Community Engagement team is dedicated to recruiting organizations interested in hosting dynamic meal packing experiences for their members or employees. We are a collective of volunteer coordinators, fundraising experts, and donor relations professionals, united in our goal to combat global hunger through community initiatives. Our fast-paced, mission-driven program engages volunteers and donors through events tailored for businesses, faith-based organizations, and educational institutions. We take pride in leading the charge against hunger.

Essential Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Proficient in Google/Microsoft Office Suite and other cloud-based applications.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and willingness to operate a box truck for transporting materials.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and operating pallet jacks, with frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Compliance with DOT regulations and maintenance of DOT certification (note: DOT prohibits any history of marijuana use, including medicinal).
  • Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and early mornings as needed.
  • Resourcefulness to adapt to various environments and situations.
  • Experience in non-profit settings is advantageous but not mandatory.
