Overview


US Oncology, Inc. is seeking an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to become a vital part of our dedicated team. This role will provide support to the Medical Oncology Department and will involve travel to various service locations.

This is a full-time position with a standard schedule, offering a work-life balance with no weekend or holiday shifts.

Role of the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN)


Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse will deliver professional nursing care to patients, adhering to established national and company standards for specialty regulations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of physiological, psychological, and developmental differences across various patient demographics, including adolescents, adults, and the elderly.

Collaboration with the interdisciplinary team is essential to assess and manage the needs of patients and their families, while supporting compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate care plans that align with established standards and practices.
  • Assess patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials as necessary.
  • Prepare and administer therapies under the guidance of a physician.
  • Administer medications and blood products accurately, ensuring correct dosages and techniques.
  • Ensure pre-authorization and consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration when applicable.
  • Facilitate dose adjustments by evaluating patient conditions, reviewing lab results, and consulting treatment protocols.
  • Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
  • Maintain precise documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
  • Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture effectively.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) position will possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • 0-3 years of RN experience; entry, mid, or senior level candidates are welcome.
  • Current RN state license in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
