Job Overview

As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and evaluating integrated systems that manage industrial production processes. This includes focusing on human work factors, quality assurance, cost systems integration, inventory management, logistics, process flow, material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Your role will be pivotal in enhancing production efficiency and process yield through effective people management, advanced technology, and streamlined business organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an individual contributor with no direct reports.
  • Develop control systems for cost analysis and financial planning related to investments.
  • Upgrade processing systems to optimize workforce utilization for cost advantages.
  • Understand product requirements and ensure compliance.
  • Address and resolve production challenges within the organization.
  • Design integrated information and manufacturing systems that align cost and processing design.
  • Review and enhance processes for cost efficiency.
  • Oversee the general flow of operations.
  • Establish work measurement programs to ensure target fulfillment.
  • Optimize workforce utilization for maximum productivity.
  • Align quality objectives with manufacturing solutions to enhance product reliability while minimizing costs.
  • Collaborate with vendors, staff, and management on processing equipment purchases and project status.
  • Create layouts for equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer aids.
  • Estimate product costs and evaluate the impact of design changes for management review.
  • Formulate sampling procedures to measure key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on yields, efficiencies, quality, and reliability.
  • Analyze statistical data and product specifications to set standards and establish cost objectives.
  • Develop manufacturing methods, labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to enhance staff and facility efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures through education, training, and compliance with safety policies and regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following skills and qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the food industry is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, and cost systems (SAP) is essential.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills.
  • Understanding of business and management principles related to strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and basic programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
  • Advanced skills in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with design techniques for processes and technical plans.
  • Administrative and accounting skills are beneficial.
  • A BA/BS degree or equivalent is preferred; Industrial Engineering or Operations Management is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with potential exposure to noise and extreme temperatures.
  • Willingness to travel domestically as required.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks.
