Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and troubleshooting machines, as well as identifying and providing reliable solutions for technical issues. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Develop offline programs for press brake, laser, punch/shear, and panel bender using Salvagnini STREAM software from Inventor 3D cad models of sheet metal parts.
  • Revision Management: Process revision changes to existing sheet metal parts to ensure offline programs are maintained at the latest revision.
  • Machine Optimization: Assist machine operators in identifying out-of-tolerance parts and making part/bend-specific corrections to bend programs.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and manage machine and material-specific bend parameter tables.
  • Collaboration: Assist the engineering team in designing for manufacturability of sheet metal parts.
  • Production Planning: Use MRP demand output to build nests and machine work queues ahead of production.
  • Quality Control: Review all first-piece runs at the machine to ensure product conformance and to prove the accuracy and efficiency of the program and method.
  • Time Studies: Perform time studies for estimation of cost and lead-time.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience in machine programming and design.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in Salvagnini STREAM software and Inventor 3D cad models.
