POSITION SUMMARY:

This role demands advanced expertise in maintenance operations. The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance and janitorial functions of the facility. This position serves as a leader and exemplary role model for the maintenance team. The Lead Maintenance Technician executes a broad range of maintenance tasks, including preventive, emergency, cosmetic, and routine maintenance, along with regular inspections. The nature of this role emphasizes safe work practices, sustained physical effort, troubleshooting, problem-solving, attention to detail, customer service, and effective time management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and respond to work orders, ensuring follow-up with residents and management as necessary.
  • Assist in conducting safety training and inspections, and follow up on plumbing, electrical, and mechanical repairs.
  • Collaborate with management on project timelines and inspection requirements, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Perform installations and repairs in compliance with local, state, and national codes.
  • Inspect the work of others for quality, completion, safety, and adherence to contractual obligations as directed.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of safety equipment and appliances to ensure proper operation.
  • Must be available for on-call duties and possess reliable transportation.
  • This position includes a two-bedroom unit; residency on-site is required.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in basic mathematics and computer skills, with fluency in English.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to worker protection, safety procedures, and occupational hazards in housing.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-family apartment maintenance is preferred, or 3 years of proven experience equivalent to a certified journeyman level in one or more building trades, or a vocational-tech graduate with a journeyman rating in relevant trade classifications.
