We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Community Events Manager to take charge of our event initiatives. Reporting directly to the Head of Developer Community, this role is pivotal in driving our community engagement and supporting various marketing and go-to-market strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement impactful developer events and campaigns aimed at fostering engagement and generating revenue through lead acquisition and sales opportunities.
  • Act as the Event Producer for significant programs and external conferences.
  • Collaborate with Marketing leadership and Regional Sales teams to formulate and execute a comprehensive Community marketing strategy.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM for tracking, reporting, and documenting event metrics, which are essential for success.
  • Engage with various functional teams across the organization globally.
  • Bring a dynamic and positive attitude that reflects the core values of DigitalOcean.
  • Oversee both virtual and live event management.

Expectations:

  • Proficient in event management software, registration systems, CRM platforms, and other technologies that enhance event execution and attendee satisfaction.
  • Deep understanding of the B2B SaaS landscape and familiarity with major industry events.
  • Manage staffing and operational logistics for events, including venue selection and coordination with technical teams.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with experiential agencies and production vendors while managing project budgets effectively.
  • Demonstrated success in generating revenue through events focused on lead generation, with the ability to define and measure success metrics.
  • Experience in field marketing or demand generation, with direct collaboration with sales teams.
  • Excellent networking and communication skills, both written and verbal, to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Awareness of emerging trends in cloud services and the ability to leverage opportunities for DigitalOcean.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong time management skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to explore new ideas and take calculated risks.
  • Familiarity with Marketo and Salesforce platforms is preferred.
  • Ideally, a proven history of success in Developer or Start-up environments.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote events through various channels, including digital marketing and company communications.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
