The Healthcare Administrative Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing essential administrative assistance to Care Managers (CM) and managing authorizations and referrals in line with established policies and guidelines.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Conducting research, analysis, adjudication, and data entry for service requests received through various channels.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate processing of service requests and notifications, adhering to performance standards.
  • Assisting in care management and outreach initiatives, including demographic research and report generation.

Essential Duties:

  • Support UM Care Managers to enhance provider and member satisfaction.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to inquiries regarding administrative policies and procedures.
  • Process authorizations and referrals for outpatient and inpatient services.
  • Maintain compliance with performance standards for telephone accessibility and authorization turnaround times.
  • Upload clinical data to the online provider portal as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve member care and case management.
  • Provide coverage during staff absences and assist with team projects as needed.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Work Environment:
Typically, this role is performed in a remote office setting with occasional onsite requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Required: Associate Degree or High School Diploma.

Experience:

  • Required: Experience in healthcare delivery, medical billing, coding, or customer service.
  • Preferred: Bilingual candidates are highly desired.
