Position Overview:

As a Behavioral Technician at Ocean Psychological Services Inc, your primary responsibility will be to provide direct one-on-one Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy and implement related strategies for clients. You will work on achieving client-specific goals and objectives through structured lesson plans and systematic data collection during each session, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This role will require travel to various locations including client homes, community settings, educational institutions, and daycare facilities within your assigned area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Execute Applied Behavior Analysis and associated therapeutic interventions based on personalized client treatment plans
  • Provide behavioral intervention services across multiple environments, including client residences, community areas, schools, and daycare centers
  • Participate in collaborative efforts by attending client team meetings, engaging in mandatory staff discussions, and enrolling in relevant training workshops
  • Conduct comprehensive data collection to evaluate client progress and modify treatment plans as necessary
  • Develop educational resources to enhance the effectiveness of therapy sessions
  • Facilitate social skills training for clients individually or in group settings when appropriate
  • Maintain regular communication with the company and respond to inquiries on a daily basis
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as required
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Proven knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles and methodologies - preferred
  • Strong skills in data collection and analysis for effective monitoring of client progress - Required
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to interact effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Cultural competence and sensitivity when working with diverse populations
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills for efficient service delivery and oversight of session schedules, materials, and documentation
  • This position initially offers part-time hours, requiring availability during late afternoons to evenings on weekdays with optional weekend work
Education and Experience:
  • Previous experience working with children with developmental disabilities is highly regarded
  • Experience in delivering ABA services in clinic, home, community, and educational settings is preferred
  • Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing is a plus
  • Minimum educational requirement of a High School Diploma or GED - Required
Physical Requirements:
  • This role involves working with children with disabilities in various settings, necessitating frequent physical activity such as managing challenging behaviors or addressing elopement situations, along with extended periods of sitting or standing during sessions
  • Ability to stand, sit, and move around for prolonged durations during therapy sessions
  • Capability to bend, stoop, kneel, and engage physically with clients as required
  • Sharp visual and auditory skills to accurately observe and respond to client behaviors
  • Able to lift and transport items weighing up to 30 pounds as necessary
