Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated Business Development Engineer to join our team. As a Business Development Engineer, you will be responsible for growing our company's market share and customer base by generating new orders for our products, systems, and services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Identify and approach new potential strategic customers to deliver relevant value propositions.
  • Foster client relationships with existing accounts through proactive and responsive communications to further growth.
  • Initiate contact with key individuals within target end-user organizations to define their needs, provide technical solutions, and develop project scope and timing.
  • Manage key accounts to ensure achievement of sales objectives.
  • Develop and implement a strategy for sales prospecting in the territory to create a pipeline of prospective customers for lead generation of new accounts.
  • Generate leads from various resources such as the internet, trade publications, trade shows, etc., and follow up on all leads.
  • Sell value, execute a disciplined sales process, and close on profitable business.
  • Drive CRM (SalesForce) utilization for account management, pipeline management, and all sales reporting features.
  • Support customers with test engineering needs: demonstrate, sell test fixtures and automated test systems (custom hardware and software solutions).
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and forecasts as defined by leadership.
  • Develop knowledge of competitive products, identify emerging markets, create strategy for competing, and keep Marketing and management abreast of all competitive activity and market development in the territory.
  • Keep current on all CCI products from a technical, applications, pricing, and selling benefits standpoint.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with a preference for Electrical or Mechanical.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with a technology sales.
  • Prior experience in sales of mid-range electronic hardware and capital equipment a plus.
  • Must have demonstrated hunter mentality to grow sales.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
    • Proven experience in Sales.
    • Knowledge of products or processes requiring the use of electrical test equipment.
    • Proven ability to build strategic internal/external customer relationships at all levels.
    • Proficiency with CRM software and Account Management systems.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building strong client relationships.
    • Strong negotiation skill set with proven track record of closing deals.
    • Requires a strong initiative, proactive nature, and a sense of urgency.
Physical Requirements
  • Majority of the time is split between usual office working conditions and travel time.
  • Ability to sit for extended lengths of time is required; bend, reach, stoop, and twist as required.
  • Heavy use of an office computer for completing work.
  • Exposure to a manufacturing area which may entail exposure to dirt, dust, noise, machine chemicals, fumes, and other attributes common to this environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to work from home and travel the region.
