Internship Responsibilities

The Logistics Analyst Internship is primarily centered on supporting the logistics department with warehouse and transportation operations.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviewing transportation carrier detention and demurrage invoices while preparing a monthly accrual file.
  • Generating weekly forecasts for warehouse throughput.
  • Monitoring and reporting on detention/demurrage KPIs monthly, proposing actions to mitigate risks and costs.
  • Compiling monthly reports regarding surplus tires designated for scrapping.
  • Creating a weekly snapshot report for the distribution center to provide management with an overview of warehousing conditions.
  • Conducting weekly assessments of throughput volumes.
  • Assisting in the shipping claims and freight auditing processes.
  • Collaborating with transportation management to identify the most cost-effective transportation solutions, encompassing both sea and land freight.
  • Developing and updating reports on daily detention/demurrage expenditures.
  • Identifying innovative and cost-saving initiatives in inbound transportation.
  • Focusing on minimizing detention and demurrage expenses for incoming products from both domestic and international sources.
  • Tracking daily warehouse throughput.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a US accredited degree program for at least another 12 months, with the ability to commit to a 12-month internship.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Marketing Analytics, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during standard business hours (Monday to Friday).
  • Maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher.
  • Willingness to work onsite at our Tire Headquarters three days a week.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel and strong mathematical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI.
  • Availability to work approximately 25-30 hours per week.
  • Prior experience in logistics.
