Position Summary

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to deliver expert failure analysis and forensic consulting services. This role involves working with various clients, including those in insurance, legal, and industrial sectors, to evaluate claims related to mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed failure analysis and forensic investigations in accordance with predetermined scopes of work and budgets.
  • Examine incidents to determine their origins, mechanisms of failure, and root causes, particularly focusing on mechanical systems.
  • Perform site inspections and product evaluations, utilizing advanced technology such as drones and 3D documentation tools.
  • Analyze compliance with relevant codes, standards, and technical documentation.
  • Engage in safety and accident analysis, product liability assessments, and mechanical system evaluations.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and support.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
  • 2-10+ years of relevant experience, with a strong background in mechanical systems, HVAC, and related fields.
  • Experience in Project Management and Field Investigations is highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to interact with clients at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering design software.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents and produce clear, coherent reports.
  • Capable of presenting findings effectively to various audiences.
Work Environment

This position involves a mix of office and fieldwork, requiring travel up to 25%. Candidates should be prepared for physical demands associated with site inspections and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
