Position: Operations Engineer

The Operations team at Gotransverse is dedicated to the principles of Service Reliability Engineering, where our talented Engineers excel in software, network, data, and systems engineering. Our focus is on architecting, managing, and sustaining services that demonstrate exceptional reliability. We aim to treat all infrastructure components with the same level of management as software components. Embracing DevOps methodologies, we empower our engineers—whether they specialize in systems or features—to develop and deploy outstanding, scalable, and efficient solutions. We are currently seeking to enhance our Operations team with an engineer who possesses a modern skill set, including expertise in Linux, AWS, and a robust background in database and data management.

Key Responsibilities:

· Provide application support for the Gotransverse revenue operations platform.

· Assist in the provisioning and configuration of customer solutions.

· Implement internal networks, firewall configurations, application servers, and data processing servers.

· Define and execute procedures for production change management and incident response.

· Address and resolve issues related to production system networks, hardware, and software.

· Ensure secure configurations of all systems and document security policies for compliance.

· Support production system networks, servers, and software.

Qualifications:

What You Bring:

· A BS/BA degree or equivalent industry experience.

· Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with the broader technical team.

· Self-motivated with exceptional organizational abilities.

· Over 3 years of experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting in Linux environments.

· Familiarity with managing requests and tasks within a ticketing or incident management system.

· Proficiency in AWS is essential.

· Solid understanding of RDBMS, particularly MySQL and PostgreSQL.

· More than 3 years of experience in deploying, troubleshooting, and monitoring Java applications on the web.

· Strong skills in configuration, deployment, upgrades, and patching for Apache Tomcat servers.

· Proficient in Unix shell, Perl, or Python programming or scripting.

· Working knowledge of DNS, NFS/NIS+, HTTP, SSL, and mail protocols.

· Understanding of TCP/IP networking, including routing, switching, and security.

· Knowledge of load balancing or high availability architectures is advantageous.

· Deep expertise in Java web applications and technologies on Linux/Unix is highly valued.

· Familiarity with SOAP and REST web services.

· Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation is required.

· Knowledge of PCI compliance is essential.

· Experience with Ansible is a plus.

· Familiarity with Enterprise Linux distributions.

· Experience with Kubernetes and Helm Charts is a plus.

· Knowledge of SCAP Security is an advantage.
