POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is integral to a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing community well-being through youth engagement, healthy lifestyles, and social accountability. The Aquatics Coordinator will cultivate a mission-driven environment that is inclusive, sincere, optimistic, supportive, and resolute while overseeing exceptional aquatic programs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess community needs to ensure program relevance, oversee activities, and enhance offerings as necessary.
  • Supervise aquatic facility operations to comply with health and safety standards, maintain documentation, and manage upkeep.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor a diverse team of staff and volunteers to ensure effective program delivery.
  • Establish partnerships with local organizations and maintain open lines of communication.
  • Oversee program finances, gather data, and organize schedules for classes, practices, and events.
  • Coordinate staffing, manage lifeguards and swim instructors, and facilitate training sessions.
  • Utilize the aquatics management system for participant records, maintain pool equipment, and follow safety protocols.
  • Deliver a high-quality aquatics experience that aligns with the organization's mission and meets member expectations.
  • Implement risk management and safety protocols, fulfill lifeguard duties, and undertake additional responsibilities as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age, with certifications in lifeguarding and CPR.
  • Preferred experience of one to two years in a related field.
  • Completion of training in Child Abuse Prevention, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens is necessary.
  • Ability to engage effectively with diverse populations and availability to work some weekends.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Physical activities include computer usage, communication, sitting, reaching, and navigating the work environment.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 10 pounds and possess specific visual abilities.
  • Strength, agility, and mobility are essential for performing key job functions.
  • Vigilance and the ability to hear emergency signals in the aquatic setting are crucial.

Compensation:

  • $16-$18 per hour, with an expected commitment of 25-30 hours per week.
