Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Financial Support Coordinator plays a vital role in assisting individuals eligible for OPWDD services and their families by delivering administrative support and ensuring quality assurance in Self-Direction services. This position collaborates closely with the Self-Direction services team to guarantee a high-quality, individualized program for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate reimbursements for assigned individuals in accordance with Medicaid and OPWDD guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Broker and Program Director to ensure timely and consistent payments.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate service, statistical, and financial records as mandated by the organization.
  • Facilitate the initiation and completion of the self-direction process in partnership with individuals and brokers.
  • Clarify all fiscal processes and necessary waiver documentation to individuals, including staff hiring and training.
  • Distribute copies of all relevant policies and procedures to Self-Direction participants.
  • Act as a liaison among individuals, brokers, and OPWDD.
  • Monitor budget utilization and prepare monthly financial statements.
  • Provide administrative support and quality assurance while working with individuals and their families.
  • Review all Life Plans to ensure compliance with agency and OPWDD standards.
  • Represent the Financial Support Coordinator at semi-annual Life Plan meetings.
  • Assist with documentation and record-keeping, ensuring all required materials for services are gathered and followed up on as necessary.
  • Complete all tasks within established timelines.
  • Prepare statistical data as required.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant government and agency regulations and operational standards.
  • Stay informed about training opportunities and changes within the field.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all work-related information.
  • Uphold the mission and values of Central New York Quest Incorporated in all activities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
