Job Title: Business Development Manager - Hosts

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager - Hosts to join our team at Apple Leisure Group. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for growing incremental revenue with designated Host accounts representing our various brands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance strong host agency relationships with a primary focus on their independent contractors (ICs).
  • Take a consultative selling approach with these ICs to identify growth and share shift opportunities, leverage preferred relationships, and execute engagement plans to grow incremental revenue.
  • Create solid engagement plans for events you attend – taking advantage of these "large sales calls" to identify and cultivate relationships for incremental growth and profitability.
  • Document all activities in Salesforce to manage commitments, sales calls, etc. at agency/IC levels.
  • Achieve sales targets by utilizing data and targeting ICs with the biggest opportunities.
  • Be responsive to agent needs, issue resolutions while providing consistent & effective follow-up.
  • Represent ALGV at host and industry events to cultivate new business opportunities and gain new revenue commitments.
  • Create brand loyalty through the use of key tools such as joint marketing plans, agency education, provide marketing tools to ICs, product differentiation, and value proposition of booking brand.
  • Use reporting tools to understand profitability, trends, and goal tracking.
  • Increase and promote distribution through VAX booking platform in line with established goals.
  • Monitor competitive activities in the marketplace and provide feedback in reporting and in meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) from four-year college or university; or three or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Travel industry knowledge or experience preferred, but will consider other candidates with transferable sales background.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% of the time by plane and car depending on the location of client opportunity.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing exceptional customer service, meeting quality standards, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing or promoting products and services, including marketing strategy and tactics.
  • Consultative sales experience with knowledge of principles and methods for selling products and services, including sales techniques and sales control systems.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to position ALGV as a solution to an agency's needs, ultimately persuading ICs to commit to selling our products.
  • Excellent judgment and decision-making skills considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to dissect reporting and take appropriate action to grow revenue.
  • Understanding the implications of new information, learning from past experiences for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to write clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to clearly verbalize the benefits of our products with the how/why an agency should work with us.
  • Strong listening skills, which allows you to ask the right questions and hear what is important to an agency.
  • Ability to prepare and present confidently information important to the attendees in an events setting.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of inquiries with excellent organizational skills, while maintaining focus on your proactive sales requirements, meeting deadlines where necessary.
